I sighed as I looked at my children. How were they going to understand? My wife must have understood my dilemma as she slightly squeezed my hand, reassuringly. I looked at her and she winked at me as she told me that she will handle the kids. I finished the rest of my dinner as I felt slightly less guilty than before. I picked up my dishes and my children’s and brought them to the sink. As Catherine placed the dishes in the washing machine, I cleared the table.
Character Carousal
///////////////////////
The kids were ready with their very own backpacks slung over their backs and were excitingly putting on their shoes. Their faces were radiant with excitement and they hopped about ready to get in the car. I pulled their luggage out of the room and opened the door leading to the garage. The moment I did that, Johnny ducked under my arm and ran out the door yelling at the top of his lungs, “We’re going to Disney World! We’re going to Disney World!”
Following not far behind him, came his elder sister, Celina as she skipped towards the car. I smiled as I shook my head to their silliness. Rolling the luggage behind me, I opened the trunk of the car and placed the two heavy bags inside, feeling a pang of guiltiness as I remembered that I had left a third bag back inside the room; my bag.

I dusted my hands off after I filled the trunk and went inside to call my wife out and make any last minute additions to their luggage in case they had forgotten. She rushed past me, looking quite attractive in her hurry. She went to the garage and one by one, checked to see if the kids had forgotten something or made sure they had packed everything they needed.
An Appeal
She picked at Celina’s hair, tucking the stray strands behind her ear, and straightening the dress she wore. Approaching them, I gently took off the Barbie pink backpack that Celina had over her shoulders and lifted it into the trunk. While, Catherine fretted over Johnny’s messy hair and falling of his jeans, I took Johnny’s Hotwheels bag and closed the trunk after placing it in.
I smiled big and clapped my hands in delight as I said with exaggerating glee, “Come on kids! It’s time to go!”
