SR Bose actually belongs to a rare species for whom the look and the feel can be very deceptive. In his daily life and activities he is a back foot player. Watches the balls till the last moment and gently glide them here and there for just keeping the score book alive. He rarely plays a false shot and never goes into the attacking mode. Surprisingly, he comes out of his defensive shell once he puts in a few pegs of Chivas regal, his favorite drink. Few of his close associates have observed this stunning phenomena of SR Bose transforming into Mr. Hyde. He then becomes an attacking player and takes everything on the front foot. SR Bose personally thinks that hard drinks are nerve stimulant and personality enhancer.
Despite being a commerce graduate with a journalism background SR Bose has got hidden qualities in a totally unrelated field. He is some sort of expert in the field of Information Technology and communication. In his early days of pursuing journalism, he discovered that unsaid actions and private talks are much more interesting than the public actions and talks. People, in general, are more interested in grays and browns rather than simple blacks and whites. And hence, he said to himself: “There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” and took it on himself to uncover the so-called truths in the public interest.
At one point of time, he used to carry out sting operations along with a few of his close associates. He has hardly involved himself in any such operation physically, his role was rather as a strategist and planner. SR Bose gradually mastered the art of masterminding such operations and negotiating and selling those stories in high prices to the interested TV channels. Later on, he realized that this can be a source of unlimited wealth if the information can be tactically used for blackmailing purpose.
Here evolved the company called ‘Stingray’ which is having a front end service of advertisement handling, ticket booking and courier service. It’s a moderately sized office of around twenty employees. Most of the employees are involved in innocuous front end services. SR Bose never comes to this office. His business partner Sebastian runs it on a day to day basis. By general observation, the whole setup looks like any other office with people involved in mundane jobs. Looking closely, one can notice that the office is very modern in terms of IT infrastructure with high-speed internet leased line and several servers. There is a so-called server room which is mostly accessed by owner cum IT manager Mr. Sebastian only. Employees know that server room is a dust proof room and used for online transaction handling. They also know that all their operations are critically dependent on that room. Sometimes, during so-called network problems Mr. Sebastian has to spend hours together in the server room. Occasionally, he takes the help of Subrata, the assistant IT Manager. All other services report to Mukund, the General Manager who runs all the errands starting from provisioning, leave, salary, etc. Mr. Sebastian often needs to go outstation, but, he ensures that that Subrata is there around to take care of the IT backbone.
