Tisca sighed and looked at Matt with bated breath. “What do you mean…?” Matt started to ask, but Tisca quickly stopped him.
“Let’s talk later about this, okay?” She said while looking sideways at Ryan who was 20 feet away from them now in the toys section. He seemed fascinated by a RC robo toy tucked into a shelf too high for him. Matt walked over and plucked it out before handing it to Ryan. Ryan’s face lit up as he held the box, and he looked at Tisca hopefully.
“Oh all right,” Tisca sighed again and seemed to age right there halfway to the cash register.
“I’ll take care of that” Matt said and completed the purchase, ignoring Tisca’s protests.
As the three left for their cars in the parking lot, Matt felt relief at the chance of redemption, Tisca heart was alight with hope to make a new connection, and Ryan was just overjoyed about his new toy robot!
