Throughout the flight journey, Madhura had been worried sick about the reaction she would receive from her husband and her daughter. Once she reached the Kochi Airport she realizes just how much she had missed being in her native place.
On the taxi ride to her village, Madhura prays real hard that her daughter would not hate her. As she crossed the numerous paddy fields, her worries were intermingled with thoughts of what felt like a long suppressed regret. She never should have abandoned her husband and her child. She would never really get back the lost time with her daughter. As for her husband, after all the kindness he had showered upon her, she would never be able to win back his trust.
As the car neared the walkway to her grandparents’ home, she saw a little girl in her petticoat, playing hopscotch beside the front door to the house. This little girl looked uncannily similar to how Madhura had looked at seven. When the taxi stopped, the little girl looked up and Madhura’s saw her daughter’s face for the first time in five years.
What’s next for Madhura?
